Take Action!

If you want better roads, relief from congestion, improved bridges and safer, more efficient Interstates, you must take action now! The Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA LU), the federal highway and transit bill, is expiring on September 31, 2009 and we need your help communicating with elected federal officials to urge them to fight for your state's fair share in the next six-year transportation bill.

How can you help?

  1. Register to become a "Virtual Advocate". You will receive timely e-mail updates on efforts to reauthorize the federal transportation bill and how it is changing, instructions on how and when to contact your legislator, and other information to help you fight for more transportation funding.
  2. Use this tool kit! The tool kit contains everything you need to learn about the issue and communicate to legislators about getting your state's fair share back in the next federal transportation bill.
  3. Get someone else involved. Roads and public transportation are the backbone of our economy. If you drive a car or take a bus, the federal transportation bill can substantially affect your life. Encourage a friend, co-worker, or family member to visit www.donorequity.org or send them this tool kit.
